This one day course is designed to meet the needs of General Practice Nurses working alongside GP colleagues using the skills of telephone triage in the assessment of minor illness.

Course Content:

• Accountability and legal aspects of telephone triage
• Protocols to assist clinical decision making
• Red flags and clinical risk management
• Introduction to the assessment and management of common minor illnesses
• Documentation

Assessment of competence:
On successful completion of the course workbook, and period of supervised practice, the participants will be awarded a Statement of competence in telephone triage and minor illness towards evidence of personal professional development.
